Who loves ya baby?

Did you know that only three animals in the world actually care what other animals are thinking? Man, apes and pigs.  Apes probably really care what you are thinking because it is important to them that you feel heard, but man and pigs only care what you are thinking so they can figure out how it might benefit them to know it.   I think that is interesting.  So when a man is being killed by another man, the victim might say "Why are you doing this?" When pigs are being held in slop houses and then to slaughter they are actually wondering something similar.   "Why is that person doing what they are doing?  How can I get them to change what they are doing?"  I think I am going to have to stop eating pork, ape and human flesh.  Damn.

Bartley, is a smart little porker.  He tests out your response to his actions and proceeds gradually, assessing along the way your response before he proceeds with each step.  If you look like you might not be taking things so well, then he stops what he is doing and might back off and walk away.  Take the trash can for instance.  It is a thing to be lusted after.  Food, trash, for a pig a euphoria of smells.  He will first nibble the plastic bag, stop, check, assess, then proceed.  He will next nudge it with his nose, stop, check, assess, then proceed.  Finally, it gets the old "overturning" which is usually followed by banging, running and squeeling, mostly by Sue and myself, but it gets the job done.

I think I will have to stop eating pork.  Go for the chickens or the religious right.  Neither could not care less what you are thinking.
